Sentosa is a resort island just south of the main island of Singapore, reached by cable car, monorail or a boardwalk. It has sandy beaches, theme parks, resorts and nature trails.
Beaches and attractions
Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong beaches have soft sand, beach bars and palm trees. Resorts World Sentosa includes Universal Studios Singapore and the S.E.A. Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. Fort Siloso tells the story of Singapore's coastal defense.
Getting there
The Singapore Cable Car from Mount Faber offers views over the harbor. The Sentosa Boardwalk from VivoCity is a pleasant walk across the water.
A day on Sentosa
Sentosa is Singapore's resort island, connected to the main island by a cable car, a monorail and a boardwalk you can walk across. Universal Studios Singapore and the S.E.A. Aquarium are the big attractions, and Fort Siloso tells the story of the island's role in World War II.
Three man-made beaches line the southern shore: Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong, each with its own atmosphere, from beach bars to quiet stretches. A suspension bridge from Palawan Beach leads to a tiny islet considered the southernmost point of continental Asia. In the evening, the island's light shows are popular with families.
