Beaches and the sky
Pantai Cenang is the main beach, with restaurants and sunsets. The Langkawi Cable Car climbs Mount Mat Cincang to the curved Sky Bridge, suspended above the rainforest.
Nature

A day in Langkawi
Ride the Langkawi SkyCab to the top of Mount Mat Cincang and walk across the curved SkyBridge, suspended high above the rainforest. Then visit the Seven Wells waterfall nearby.
In the afternoon, take a boat through the mangroves of Kilim Geoforest Park, where eagles swoop for food, then relax on Cenang Beach for sunset.
Good to know
Langkawi is a duty-free island, so alcohol and chocolate are cheap. Renting a car is the easiest way to get around.
The best time to visit is from November to April, when the weather is dry and the sea calm.
Island life
Langkawi is an archipelago of 99 islands in the Andaman Sea, and the main island mixes jungle-covered mountains with beaches, rice paddies and small villages. The island is a UNESCO Global Geopark, recognized for its ancient rock formations. Island-hopping tours visit the Lake of the Pregnant Maiden, a freshwater lake on Dayang Bunting island, and stop to watch eagles feeding.
The Oriental Village at the base of the SkyCab has shops and restaurants, and Kuah, the main town, has a giant eagle statue at Dataran Lang. In the evening, Pantai Cenang has a lively strip of beach bars, while Tanjung Rhu in the north is quieter and wilder.
